Climate Change – What Does Science Tell Us
Dr Tim Davis has a PhD in physics from the University of Melbourne and was at the CSIRO for many years which included research into global warming. He is now doing research at the University of Stuttgart and is an Honorary Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
Hearing people claim that climate change was not happening, or was not caused by human-induced carbon dioxide emissions, led Tim to delve into the science: What evidence is there for global warming? What is causing the energy imbalance? Could it be more energy from the sun, or more heat from the Earth’s interior? What role does the atmosphere play? In the talk Tim will address the science that debunks the anti climate change rhetoric. He will then briefly discuss some ramifications of a warming planet and how it affects our climate in Australia.
